Powerful 20pc Helios Violet Wand - 1960s
This violet wand is sensational - a very large case lovingly restored using a hard wearing faux leather case covering. The interior is in a rich black cotton velvet with gold interior beading. It really does give an solid impression that you have bought the ultimate in restored violet wands The control unit is a classic of 1950s/1960s design - with a see through perspex case so all the electrics inside can be viewed. POWER is controlled by the large knob on the fascia and for the technically minded controls the contact breakers / trembler rather than a rheostat. This is typical for many of these large helios machines. Sensations are medium low to very high - few people ever use these devices just on low and few people like using them on their maximum power for too long There is a metal covering to the hand piece which provides a return path for the output. If the user apply's their free hand to the recipient, they can see sparks flying from their fingertips. Naturally we replaced the capacitors and the cables (modern black pvc for lightness) with useful 2m length. Interestingly the capacitors are housed in three metal cases and so are out of view. We replaced the originals with a series of modern polypropylene ones which fit into these three metal cases - so retaining the original look. Plus re insulated all the interior wiring with the same blue colour. |
